Kirsty & Andy’s Wedding – Holy Trinity, Rayleigh & Hockley Community Centre

I’d photographed my friend Andy’s family before (and see his parents around town… Sainsbury’s the other week!) so was more than happy when Kirsty & Andy asked me to photograph their day, having known and gone to school with David the best man and the church being our local, I was more than happy!

When the day finally arrived we were concerned about the rain – that morning it seemed like it would never stop.  It eased off just as Kirsty left the house and was dry by the time we got to the church – perfect!

The ceremony was at the Holy Trinity Church at the top of Rayleigh High Street, I was invited to the rehearsal a few days beforehand – I don’t normally go to rehearsals but it was nice to go and meet the kids again and get to know the Bridesmaids.  Also chatted with the Rev’d. Tracy and on the day, this helped a great deal.  I normally speak to the Rev’d or whomever is taking the service just before the wedding itself to find out a) whether it’s OK to take pictures, b) where it’s OK to stand and c) whether I can move (some don’t mind you discreetly moving around to get a different angle or go to the side of the church, some want us photographers to stay very still).  I think Rev’d Tracy got the idea that I wasn’t going to be jumping over pews and making loads of noise!  The ceremony flew by, but the highlight was Oliver trying to show Kirsty & Andy a picture of a dog whilst they were trying to take their vows!

After a few family and Bridal portraits at the church we moved to Hockley Community Centre with it’s steps backing onto a luscious green field – perfect for more pictures and of course the hog roast!

It was a fantastic day and I’m honoured that Kirsty & Andy chose me to be part of it and very proud of the two of them and their cute little family! xx
